Associate Pastor
The Rev. Joe Evans

I have been married for four years. We don’t have kids, but we do have three little black and white dogs. My wife works as the Director of Community Relations at Action Ministries, a homeless ministry in Atlanta.

I was never much of a baseball player, so that profession was easily ruled out. I do however have a loud voice and a passion for the Bible. I believe that God gives us all gifts and so calls us all to use those gifts; it is by this assumption that, with excitement and joy, I strive to serve God using the gifts that God has given me to do ministry at Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church.

I attended Presbyterian College in Clinton, SC, where I earned a BA in Religion with a minor in History. I also received a Master of Divinity from Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, GA.

I love the outdoors and try to do a lot of camping; the most exciting camping trip was in a canoe paddling through the lakes of nothern Minnesota with my brother. Sara and I have also gone on some great trips. We went to Cuba with a group from college and have driven all around New Mexico and Colorado with friends.

Hispanic Pastor
Marlucia Damaceno Crispim

I am Presbyterian, born in Brazil. Since I accepted Jesus Christ in my heart He gave me a great passion to serve Him. In the service of Jesus Christ I studied theology and misiology in Jocum-Brazil Seminary. After these studies, I served as a missionary for three years in Brazil. Noticing my abilities, my Church sent me to Bolivia to study in a transcultural course at CEMI Seminary in Bolivia. This education prepared me to serve as a missionary there for 10 years. It was during this time that I met my husband Igor. God brought us here to serve Him by ministering to the Hispanic people at Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church. My desire is to fulfill God’s dream for my life, my family, and the Church.

Director of Student Ministries
Katie Gomola
My parents are Presbyterian pastors in Grove City, PA. Ali, my younger sister, is currently in nursing school at King College in Bristol, TN.  Jay, my brother, is in school at Grove City College and my younger brother David is a student at Grove City High School.  My fiancé, Brad Arnold, and I are getting ready to begin married life together.

God has been calling me to student ministry since I was in middle school.  My church at the time did not have a youth group, so I organized the youth at my house for fellowship and asked adults to take us on outings.  Through out high school, I led a middle school Bible study and had my high school peers over every Friday morning for devotions and breakfast. I also led my high school’s Bible club and spent 3 months in Zimbabwe on a motorcycle mission team.  Most people would have picked up on their calling at that point, but I was determined not to follow in my parent’s footsteps.

I went to college determined to be an adolescent counselor.  I had such a passion to work with students, but kept tuning God out when he was clearly calling me to student ministry.  In college, I took an internship as youth director at a local church.  That internship became a 4 year position.  I loved every minute of it, but when it came to find a full-time job, I was still looking for something else.  I decided to go back to school and work on my masters in counseling.  I thought that was my answer to the restlessness I was feeling. Once accepted to a school, I thought I would find peace, but still I felt no peace.  One night I was praying and asking God to guide me and show me what His plan was for my life.  Suddenly this idea was put on my heart to post my resume on a youth ministry website.  Within two weeks I had 15 churches asking me to come interview, one of them being Good Shepherd.  Finally, I had surrendered my plans and let God take over.

I think most of my knowledge and experience came from watching my parents in ministry and taking on leadership roles through their churches.  I attended King College in Bristol, TN and received a BA in Youth Ministry and Psychology.  I served my first church, Green Spring Presbyterian, in Abingdon, VA for 4 years and then came to Good Shepherd.

I love the Pittsburgh Steelers!  I enjoy softball, tennis and spending time outdoors.  Traveling the world and learning Spanish are two of my dreams.  I love singing at the top of my lungs while I’m driving in my car.  Did I mention that I love the Pittsburgh Steelers?
